It’s time for another Amazon Fashion hall – sharing with you the wins and even the fails (only two this time!) A few of these finds were from the help of fellow bloggers like Megan from Honey We’re Home – she regularly has Amazon shopping round up posts for all the seasons, so I definitely tried a few of her must haves and tried them for myself!
Women’s Tunic Dress with Embroidered Floral Mesh Bishop Sleeve = $18.99
My Size = Medium (Returned)
Oh my gosh, this was such a disappointment, because I actually loved it so much especially for the price. Even with the snags in the embroidered floral sleeves (which could’ve easily been cut) – it was just WAY TO SHORT for me. But seriously, the sleeves and style was adorable and flattering, I just don’t care to have my butt hang out, especially since I was wanting this for a wedding it was not going to be dance-friendly. But honestly if you don’t mind a shorter dress, or maybe ordering a size up you can’t beat the price! P.S. I got mine for fourteen bucks and some change (it’s since gone up!)
Casual Trouser Paper Bag Pants Elastic Waist Slim Pockets = $23.00
My Size = Large
These are super fun, super stretchy and not to mention perfect for a client meeting and day at work. These are also a flattering piece to add to you wardrobe with the high-waisted band. I tried these pants with the body suite which was a classic look and almost felt a bit jumpsuit-esq (see below).
Scoop Neck Body Suite = $14.99
My Size = Medium
I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Not only was this super soft and comfy, it was flattering as well – and I loved this paired with some jeans for a simple look (see above). I also tried this on with the high-wasted trouser pants (above) and then a cute denim skirt I have – all left a streamlined look with no rumples under my pants or in my skirt from an oversized shirt being tucked in. This body suite always has clasps for potty breaks! If you haven’t dived into the world of body suites – I would definitely try this one, especially for the price you can’t beat it!
Long Sleeve Round Neck Knits Sweater Pullover = $21.99
My Size = Medium
I’ve had my eyes on this sweater for a few seasons, I think the hearts on the elbows are such a fun and cute touch while still keeping to a pretty classic, staple sweater. It is surprisingly light weight, yet well made. I can easily see this piece becoming a staple not only for the fall but into the winter as well. The sweater seems to fit well, but I would be curious to see how a size smaller would fit – especially with wear! Whattcha think?
Colorblock Long Sleeve Loose Cardigan = $31.99
My Size = Small (Returned)
I may or may not have a long cardigan addiction – so I felt like I was going a bit out of the box with the colorblock version of one to add to the collection. First strike for this cardigan once I got it was that I realized it didn’t have any pockets. And although this piece was made nicely, soft and fairly warm – I just didn’t really love it. I didn’t feel like the shape or colorblocking was flattering on me either. And for being one of the more expensive items in my Amazon haul, I decided to send this one back.
Embroidered Ruffle Babydoll Peplum Tops Blouse = $16.99
My Size = Medium
Obsessed! I am definitely in am embroidered floral mood lately and this peplum top is the perfect combo of all my favorite things, pink, flowers and a peplum blouse. Pair this top with some jeans with a cute date night or black tights and nude heels for the office. And I mean it’s just fricken adorable, and I want 10-more of these in every single color – but this peplum style only comes in pink and white.
I definitely need to add a few Leopard printed pieces to my fall wardrobe, as that obsession has quickly grown out of control since my initial Amazon Fall Hoard. What pieces are you adding to your fall wardrobe this season?
Last year I fell in love with furs – mainly because of my winter wedding and then pulling those fur wedding vibes into my holiday looks. Fur is still my go-to piece for all my holiday looks this season! Here is some inspiration for last minute holiday looks from my closet – plus I sourced some current pieces in case you want to shop any of the pieces (and a few of them are on sale!!)
Formal Christmas Party. Burgundy is a great warm and sultry color to introduce into your wardrobe especially around the holidays. Now pair burgundy with some floral prints and a classic capelet fur and you’re holiday ready! I love this look as it’s a bit more formal for a party without feeling overly Christmasy – not to mention it’s a little sexy too!
Classic & Comfy Plaid with Fur. Okay, total disclaimer this might be my favorite outfit – it’s so stinkin’ cute plus it screams Christmas! My plaid tights were any early season purchase from Old Navy, I can no longer find them on their website, but I found some for $13 at Walmart (linked below!) My awesome shoes (which are basically a shoe version of an ugly sweater) are from Katy Perry and appear to no longer be available – but she has new festive ones for this season to shop!
Fur Meet Metallic. For a happy medium between dressing up and casual – I love mixing this classic blush scoop tee with a fun metallic skirt, throw that fur capelet on and you have a wintery look ready for a holiday party or evening mass. This look is the right amount of festive without going over the top!
The Ultimate NYE look. When I think NYE, I think gold, glitter, sequins and sparkle… so what better look that a sequin dress and a fun fur vest! When I was looking for a similar piece (my gold sequin dress is from Target last year) I found this adorable black large sequin dress from H&M that is on sale <linked below> and I might like it better than my gold dress! Anyways, this outfit is party and champagne ready.
Shop the pieces: Faux Fur Capelet – Nordstrom $83 [on sale!] | Lace Shift Dress – Nordstrom $59 | Burgundy Floral Sheath Dress – Old Navy $26 [on sale!] | Red Plaid Leggings – Walmart $13.95 | Faux Fur Vest – Target $39.99 | Sequin Sleeve Shirt – Target $16.99 | Metallic Animal Print Wrap Skirt – Express $29.95 [on sale!] | Black Sequin Dress – H&M $34.99
One of my favorite fashion times of the year is the holidays – it’s an excuse to dress up and be as sparkly as you want! I’ll definitely be rocking a few of these looks in the next couple weeks for coming office parties, family festivities, Christmas Eve mass and of course NYE! What’re some pieces you’ll be incorporating into your holiday looks this year?
Who doesn’t love a good accessory? As the seasons shift and the days get cooler, layering and switching up options for versatility is always a goal for me. I like having outfits that work daytime and can easily be updated for an evening look for those week after work happy hours or last minute date nights. The best part is you don’t have to spend a fortune to expand your wardrobe options! Here are a few key pieces I always like to add to my wardrobe to help switch up looks – plus I’ve found pieces that are under $30 to help you expand your wardrobe too!(1) More Scarves, Please! Expanding your scarf collection with patterned and neutral scarves can expand your wardrobe options dramatically. If you’re working with a patterned scarf, like this Leopard Print Scarf from Gap – you can stick to a neutral color palette as your base canvas versus a neutral scarf with a patterned dress or sweater. Scarfs can also help you transition summer pieces into fall!
(2) Classic Booties. And buy multiple colors! Once you find a good classic pair of booties, stock up! You will quickly find that you’ll be switching these in and out all season long. A great pair of booties can go with a variety of looks from a dress to jeans, plus they keep your tootsies warm! Check out these booties from TJMaxx that come in both camel and black… and yes they’re under $30.
(3) Statement Necklace. A statement necklace can change a whole look taking it from basic to glam. I love taking a more casual look and adding a necklace making it feel more complete and ready to take on the day. This is also another easy way to transition an outfit from daytime (no necklace) to nighttime (necklace!) Pro-tip: Stock up with sales, like this sale at New York & Company happening right now!
(4) A Nude Handbag (or four). You should probably have like four nude handbags in different styles from over the shoulder, to a structured tote, to a work bag. A nude bag can help make a statement when paired with fun colors, and is also professional for the work week! Aldo has a handful of nude stunners on sale, for under $30.
(5) A Neutral Jean Jacket. For under $30?! Hell yeah! The key is finding one that is classic and neutral both in colors and embellishments like this Jean Jacket from Target. With the right jacket your wardrobe can be styled from casual to evening and from summer to fall. Pro-tip: if you plan to layer a lot with you jean jacket, consider going up a size, or you may be somewhat limited to your seasons! I love styling my jean jacket with a fun dress or styling it down with a t-shirt.
(6) Layering Vests. Adding a few vests to your wardrobe will not only be functional, but will also give you a variety of options for switching out looks for continued versatility. Having a few key vest types can help whether you’re dressing up a look (like this Vest from Nordstrom Rack) or being more casual on the weekend for a quick trip to the store or a walk with the pup (shop this Puffer Vest from Old Navy)!
Shop the pieces: Leopard Print Scarf from Gap | Vest from Nordstrom Rack \ Jean Jacket from Target | Booties from TJMaxx | Structured Tote from Aldo | Statement Necklace from New York & Co.
I am always looking for easy and budget friendly ways to expand my wardrobe while making sure my looks and pieces are functional! A lot of these may seem like basics, but the key is to expanding and adding to your wardrobe expanding outfit options for all occasions. Happy Shopping!
For our honeymoon, we were headed someplace warm during our cold months – but that also meant we were going to have a pool available to us 24/7 while we were away, so I became a bit swimsuit obsessed. And since then, it’s expanded to having comfy day-outfits, and evening wear that is on trend for our vacay destinations, especially those warm spots! The fun part of vacations is that you’re traveling and exploring someplace new – so it’s an opportunity to have a little more fun with your wardrobe and pull out all the stops!
Here are some tips and tricks I use to help find not only the perfect pieces but also some great deals to help build my vacation ready wardrobe!
Pre & End of Season Sales. These are great especially if you’re vacationing someplace warm in the traditional ‘off season’ – I love taking advantage of sales on swimwear and other summer dresses at places I wish I could shop at more regularly like Athleta, The Loft or Anthropology.
Amazon. Amazon is not the first place I go to when I’m shopping for clothes, but lately it’s been a spot I’ve been checking out especially for coverups, casual rompers, or dresses. I think what I love the most about shopping for clothes on Amazon is the ease of customer reviews, tips and photos that help guide sizing or my steer you away from a bad purchase – plus you can’t beat the affordable prices or two-day shipping!
Research Your Destination. Do some research on your destination and look at historical temperature data so you can somewhat plan appropriately, like if it cools down in the evenings it might be wise to pack a jacket or jeans! Also it’s good to research some spots you might want to visit whether it’s a day outing, evening dinner, or brunch spot – so you can plan outfits accordingly and have versatility for your destination.
Build on Current Pieces. Especially when it comes to bathing suits – sometimes it’s more affordable to just buy a fun new bikini top or more conventional bottoms that work with other pieces! This goes the same with cover ups or finding pieces that can easily go from pool to dinner with a change of shoes and a little extra mascara.
Living in the midwest, the warm clothes see a blimp of daylight and often have a a couple years of live under them – that’s why I like shopping for some new pieces for our upcoming trips, it makes them feel ever more special than they already are!
This month’s latest obsessions is a fashion edition. Covering off on all my favorite summer pieces from the beach, to the patio, to a wedding! Let’s face it, that is pretty much what the whole summer is about, and your wardrobe can never have enough options for any of those occasions!
For the Beach: My must have is high-waisted bikini bottoms! A little over a year ago, these were hard to find, now you can find them almost everywhere! From Target, to Old Navy to Athleta, the prints and options are endless and adorable! Since my beach bod has been a work in progress, this is a cute way for me to feel more confident and comfortable! Not to mention everything is on SALE right now! Stock-up!
For the Patio: For the cool summer nights I’ve been loving a pair of mid-rise jean shorts paired with a flowy long sleeve shirt or sweater. It’s perfect for a low-key night with friends sitting around the fire, sipping on a tasty beverage and listening to some good tunes.
For the Wedding: I first fell in love with Jessakae on Pinterest when I saw these gorgeous floral printed dressed. Although, like most clothing pins on Pinterest, the links never work but I decided to click, and to my surprise the link worked! I’ve bought three dresses off Jessakae, they arrive quickly, the fabric is incredible soft and light and they’re great for casual events or to dress up with heels and a nice hair style. They also offer tops, bottoms, and cute shoes!
There is still plenty of summer left to stock your wardrobe with all these essentials, I know I have been!

Happy First Day of Spring!
As I am planning my wedding, I can’t help but try and find the perfect dresses for other wedding festivities, like the Bridal Shower, Bachelorette, and the Rehearsal! Since most of these festivities are in the spring/summer the clothes and options are starting to become endless and the decision is going to be tough!
Although I haven’t found my perfect dress(es) yet; I’ve pulled some looks that are serving as my inspiration, as there are a few different routes that I could go and you might be in the same boat!
01 | 02 | 03 | 04
If you’re like me and already started your hunt, consider the following…
All White: This is definitely an easy way to go and a classic option, wearing all white at any one of these festivities keeps you as the bride and truly the focal point!
Make A Statement: With a bright color! Showing up in a bright pink or patterned dress will help keep the focus on you. This might be a fun way to show off a bit of your personality too!
Know Your Venue: Is your shower/rehearsal a sophisticated backyard soiree? Or is it a casual setting at a family members house? Or maybe a tea party theme at a local country club? Be sure that you’re standing out but also dressing to your venue to keep the theme of the day/night on point.
Will You Wear It Again? Ask yourself this question as your picking out the dress. You’ll want to make sure you can wear it again for a date night, the honeymoon, a friends shower or family function! That way you won’t feel so bad if you invest a little more money that you were planning!
One thing that I absolutely cannot wait for are the holidays and all the amazing parties! Here are some holiday essentials to get you ready for every type of party, from family dinners, work parties, low key nights with friends working all the way up until NYE. These versatile must-haves include awesome timeless dresses, classic sweaters and statement pants and tops!

The key to nailing every holiday look this season is easy; keep it simple AND know when to pull out those statement pieces like metallic patterned pants and sparkly sequined shirts! Don’t be afraid to keep it classic with red plaids or plain dresses for more casual looks or dress them up with statement necklaces, dark tights and cute booties or a slick pair of heels.
I saw the plaid sweater (#7) in Target and bought it immediately! Not to mention it was on sale during a BOGO. Start stocking up now because those good pieces will get snatched up quick from other fashionistas!

When it comes to clothes and shoes I don’t usually splurge too much and if I do, there are LONG periods of breaks in between, especially when it comes to my shoes! Last time I bought soft canvas sneaks or loafers was probably in 2013? (Are you judging me… just a little? It’s ok…) And they’ve finally gotten to the point were they’re a bit too dirty to pull off anymore. The last time I bought a pair of sandals was probably 2014… (still judging?) What can I say? I make my shoes last – it’s not to say I don’t admire and dream over a few pairs, I just don’t like spending a lot of money on them, it’s physically impossible for me to do, even though I don’t buy them that often (it’s okay, you can think I’m totally weird). So, needless to say 2016 is going to be my restock year (and I’ve already started!!)

Printed Canvas Sneaks/Loafers: I’m obsessed with these! I think they’re a fun way to show off your personality with neutrals or bright colors, not to mention they’re super comfy and can be casual or dressed-up. Perfect for all the spring and summer picnics, and not to mention the perfect travel shoes!
Flats: You can never go wrong with flats, I especially need a variety of options for the office, since wearing heels day after day is exhausting. Flats can also be the perfect look for a date night or bridal shower.
Sandals: This is a given, although I think it’s good to have a mix of of different colors and styles from casual to dressy in case there are the occasions where you don’t want to rock heels or wedges the whole time.
Rain boots: You need at least one good pair! And personally, I need a pair of rain boots that’re a little less obnoxious, but still fun and cute. Unfortunately I can’t rock the Hunter boot, because I have muscular calves *smiles* – having these for those random rainy days is clutch, especially if you’re like me and have to walk a block or two to the office!
My word of advice for any of these shoes, is if you find a pair you love, don’t be afraid to stock up on a few pairs, because you’ll regret it if you don’t! I know I do, it’s definitely something that I make a point that if I do see my pair on sale or back in stock to buy another pair.
Happy Shoe Shopping!
With a lot of fun events coming up from bridal showers, to bachelorette parties, to weddings, and even engagement pictures at some point, my closet is in a serious need of an overhaul! I’ve always been a person who likes clothes, but never feel like I can pull anything off, well the things I would love to pull off. Not to mention I pick pieces that’re for a specific event, and not cross-functional (especially my dresses!). I have to many sleeveless dresses that I can only wear truly in the summer, I hate trying to find the perfect ‘cover-up’ for work or other events when weather doesn’t permit. So here are some of my must haves for this upcoming event season and after!
Knee Length Skirts – One word. LOVE. Classic, elegant, and can be dressed up or down for any occasion. They can even go from work to evening with accessories. Knee Length skirts with high waits don’t work for everyone, but when pulled off correctly can give you a nice waist line and fabulous mood.
01 | 02 | 03
Multiple-Occasion Dresses: What I love about these dresses is that you can wear them year-round and for different occasions whether it be a formal wedding, a date night, or in the office, you won’t be holding on to these to pull out every other year to avoid repeat photo opps.
04 | 05 | 06 | 07
Bags on a Budget: Since you’re spending so much on awesome skirts and dresses, save a little on the bag. Plus if you’re like me, as much as I love the expensive bags I change my mind all the time about the size, shape, and color I want to tote around on any given day, so it just doesn’t make sense to spend a lot on these regularly! That’s why I like these bags on a budget to help in all aspects from traveling, work, even to nights out!

I am looking forward to doing some spring shopping and getting ready for all these fun events and parties and looking damn good at them!
