I’m quickly approaching my second pandemic birthday, well given that last year on my dreaded 30th birthday the world literally came to a screeching halt. All of my grandiose plans to distract from turning 30 last year got cancelled one by one — so I’ve come to realize and accept normal bday fun is a thing of the past, at least for another trip around the sun. So I’m ditching the heels and glittery skirts and swapping them in for glam sweatshirts and obnoxiously cute accessories for a birthday celebration in.
Since we’re still sort of living in a pandemic of weird times, the way to rock your birthday is with some glammed up, comfy and super cute sweatshirts – jeans are optional. I shopped a few super cute and most affordable sweatshirt options that can make a fun statement for your special day. Also, a few of my latest obsessions from February are also perfect for having a nice birthday at home. One trend that has come out of this pandemic, that I absolutely love is these cute sweatshirts with puffy sleeves, bejewels, or ruffles – like finally! Why has this taken so long?
Okay, now that we have options for a cute staple sweatshirt – it’s time to add on some accessories and little more personal flair. Whether it’s a statement tee, a splurge on a chunky gold necklace or a keepsake of your zodiac sign – treat yourself with something special that brings out your personality. I am all about sharing love, drinking bubbles, loving on the pups and letting my pisces pride shine. Wearing some beaded or oversized earrings is another way to dress up a more casual look to help you stand out and feel extra special for your birthday.
As I continue to embrace another pandemic birthday, I’m going to keep enjoying the finer things, sip on plenty of bubbles and eat way to much cake — and I’m going to be comfy and cute while I’m doing it! Speaking of the finer things, if you are looking for a little more something special, here is some inspo from last year’s pre-pandemic looks. Here’s to the official birthday countdown, another pandemic birthday, which actually doesn’t officially count.
Just like NYE, a fun sparkly outfit to celebrate your milestone birthday is a necessity! In addition to having some sparkle — having a few tasteful and fun themed t-shirts can help with the whole mood of the day. So after doing some online searching for some fun and subtle tees, I fell in love with two different ones. One that plays a little more on the sweet side and another that is a little more rugged especially if you’re not loving your new speed limit sign as much — which is exactly my two sentiments of this birthday sweet and sassy, and let’s just face it, me in general. Check out to see the few different ways I styled these simple tees up for a nice dinner date or low-key day on the town — and why I love these pieces so much!
Original 1990 Pink Tee. I found this on Etsy and love that there are a variety of years to choose from, I’ll be snagging this for an upcoming 60th birthday celebration happening this summer for a very special lady. These shirts are SO soft and made of nice quality, have a variety of colors to pick from and also can have it be ‘original’ or ‘vintage’ with the year. I ordered a small and it fits great!
Straight Outta 1990 Tee. This was another shirt that once I saw it, I knew I needed to have. It has just the right amount of attitude and fun with a little edge — especially since I’ve been having a love/hate with this upcoming 30th birthday. Styled with jeans and some leopard flats it has a little rock n’ roll flair that I just love too.
Midi Sequin Skirt from Anthropologie. I snagged this gem during their winter sale (it’s still available and discounted by over 70%! It’s a classic piece to have for a fun occasion like this, to be dressy but still play it casual with either one of these tees I snagged. I also can’t wait to dress it up for some upcoming weddings this year! I ordered a small (usually wear a size 8/10 jeans) and it fits well since I wear it higher on my waist.
High Waisted Trouser Pants. I first showed these in my Fall Amazon Fashion review and love the idea of these high waisted pants styled with the Original 1990 pink tee! Throw on some heels and blazer and you’ve got a classic, yet styled-up outfit for a birthday dinner out on the town and a bit more understated than the glitter skirt!
I also love both of these tees with my go-to Rockstar jeans from Old Navy especially since they’re high waisted and perfect for a tee tuck and either a fun pair of flats or some heels to dress up the entire look a bit. Can’t wait to rock a few of these outfits this upcoming weekend celebrating the big 3-0!
It’s time for another Amazon Fashion hall – sharing with you the wins and even the fails (only two this time!) A few of these finds were from the help of fellow bloggers like Megan from Honey We’re Home – she regularly has Amazon shopping round up posts for all the seasons, so I definitely tried a few of her must haves and tried them for myself!
Women’s Tunic Dress with Embroidered Floral Mesh Bishop Sleeve = $18.99
My Size = Medium (Returned)
Oh my gosh, this was such a disappointment, because I actually loved it so much especially for the price. Even with the snags in the embroidered floral sleeves (which could’ve easily been cut) – it was just WAY TO SHORT for me. But seriously, the sleeves and style was adorable and flattering, I just don’t care to have my butt hang out, especially since I was wanting this for a wedding it was not going to be dance-friendly. But honestly if you don’t mind a shorter dress, or maybe ordering a size up you can’t beat the price! P.S. I got mine for fourteen bucks and some change (it’s since gone up!)
Casual Trouser Paper Bag Pants Elastic Waist Slim Pockets = $23.00
My Size = Large These are super fun, super stretchy and not to mention perfect for a client meeting and day at work. These are also a flattering piece to add to you wardrobe with the high-waisted band. I tried these pants with the body suite which was a classic look and almost felt a bit jumpsuit-esq (see below).
Scoop Neck Body Suite = $14.99
My Size = Medium
I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Not only was this super soft and comfy, it was flattering as well – and I loved this paired with some jeans for a simple look (see above). I also tried this on with the high-wasted trouser pants (above) and then a cute denim skirt I have – all left a streamlined look with no rumples under my pants or in my skirt from an oversized shirt being tucked in. This body suite always has clasps for potty breaks! If you haven’t dived into the world of body suites – I would definitely try this one, especially for the price you can’t beat it!
I’ve had my eyes on this sweater for a few seasons, I think the hearts on the elbows are such a fun and cute touch while still keeping to a pretty classic, staple sweater. It is surprisingly light weight, yet well made. I can easily see this piece becoming a staple not only for the fall but into the winter as well. The sweater seems to fit well, but I would be curious to see how a size smaller would fit – especially with wear! Whattcha think?
I may or may not have a long cardigan addiction – so I felt like I was going a bit out of the box with the colorblock version of one to add to the collection. First strike for this cardigan once I got it was that I realized it didn’t have any pockets. And although this piece was made nicely, soft and fairly warm – I just didn’t really love it. I didn’t feel like the shape or colorblocking was flattering on me either. And for being one of the more expensive items in my Amazon haul, I decided to send this one back.
Obsessed! I am definitely in am embroidered floral mood lately and this peplum top is the perfect combo of all my favorite things, pink, flowers and a peplum blouse. Pair this top with some jeans with a cute date night or black tights and nude heels for the office. And I mean it’s just fricken adorable, and I want 10-more of these in every single color – but this peplum style only comes in pink and white.
My love for leopard print has increasingly grown over the last few years. I started my obsession small with a muted-grey long leopard print sweater off Amazon and then more recently a more traditional printed cardigan from Marshall’s that was a steal for $12. So this fall, Leopard Print is fricken hot and EVERYWHERE I turn. I want it all. So, to help serve all of our Leopard Print obsessions this fall fashion season, here are some quick links to shop with high-to-low price points for all those leopard print must haves!
Let’s Be Real. Since we just can’t buy $150 leopard print sweaters every other day, let’s look at a few pieces that are a bit more on the everyday level. So Target, Old Navy and Nordstrom Rack are more real speed. I first spotted this Who What Wear Crewneck Sweater at Target a month back, and haven’t stopped thinking about it ever since and at $32.99 it’s a fair price point. These slip on sandals from Nordstrom Rack are a good transition from summer into fall, and they’re leopard print! Finally, I love this muted oversized jacket from Old Navy, it can be casual, but also screams power suit.
Bring on the deals! These pants from Old Navy, were also spotted mid-summer when I just wasn’t ready to fully transition into fall – well guess what they’re on sale now! So go and add them to your shopping cart and maybe order another pattern too. Amazon Fashion has started booming and pricing has started to get more competitive, but there are still a few steals that are hard to pass up, especially when there are free returns. I sort of love this simple tee with a fun pop of leopard with the pocket square for a little more understated way to bring that pop of sass. The last deal to shop is this fun long sleeve leopard dress for $20 – it looks so comfy and will transition nicely into colder months with leggings and booties.
Literally everywhere I turn, I was in Kohl’s and leopard print everything – then Anthropology popped up in my Insta feed with those beautiful leopard sweaters. So that is what I have been obsessing over lately and what I’ll continue obsessing over this fall fashion season and getting a few fabulous leopard pieces to add to my growing collection. What is your next leopard fashion purchase?
The perfect rain jacket from J.Crew comes in an array of colors that just scream spring you’ll have a hard time deciding which color to pick! I love the blush pink, but also think bright yellow would be a welcome way to combat the grey skies. Oh, and these are onsale at J.Crew – right now!
The hooded wind breaker from Old Navy makes me want to go for a run! This sporty jacket is perfect for running errands on the weekends, heading to the gym or taking your pup for a walk. Again, the color options for these is hard to pick just one, although the navy is classic the Oceanside green color makes a fun statement.
Okay – bargain alert! The trench from Nordstrom Rack is a must order – it’s a sexy coat that will dress up any look and will be especially perfect for date night! The soft colors it comes in are also the perfect compliment to spring pastels.
Last but not least, I love a good denim jacket and this adorable piece from Loft is the perfect twist on a classic look with the subtle polka dot accents that make you do a double take. This jacket will also transition perfect into summer and fall, since denim jackets never get old.
As if you weren’t looking forward to spring already, don’t these jackets just make you want it now?! Make sure you use a few promo codes to get these adorable looks on sale (so you can get more than one!)
Who doesn’t love a good accessory? As the seasons shift and the days get cooler, layering and switching up options for versatility is always a goal for me. I like having outfits that work daytime and can easily be updated for an evening look for those week after work happy hours or last minute date nights. The best part is you don’t have to spend a fortune to expand your wardrobe options! Here are a few key pieces I always like to add to my wardrobe to help switch up looks – plus I’ve found pieces that are under $30 to help you expand your wardrobe too!(1) More Scarves, Please! Expanding your scarf collection with patterned and neutral scarves can expand your wardrobe options dramatically. If you’re working with a patterned scarf, like thisLeopard Print Scarf from Gap – you can stick to a neutral color palette as your base canvas versus a neutral scarf with a patterned dress or sweater. Scarfs can also help you transition summer pieces into fall!
(2) Classic Booties. And buy multiple colors! Once you find a good classic pair of booties, stock up! You will quickly find that you’ll be switching these in and out all season long. A great pair of booties can go with a variety of looks from a dress to jeans, plus they keep your tootsies warm! Check out these booties from TJMaxx that come in both camel and black… and yes they’re under $30.
(3) Statement Necklace. A statement necklace can change a whole look taking it from basic to glam. I love taking a more casual look and adding a necklace making it feel more complete and ready to take on the day. This is also another easy way to transition an outfit from daytime (no necklace) to nighttime (necklace!) Pro-tip: Stock up with sales, like thissale at New York & Company happening right now!
(4) A Nude Handbag (or four). You should probably have like four nude handbags in different styles from over the shoulder, to a structured tote, to a work bag. A nude bag can help make a statement when paired with fun colors, and is also professional for the work week! Aldo has a handful of nude stunners on sale, for under $30.
(5) A Neutral Jean Jacket. For under $30?! Hell yeah! The key is finding one that is classic and neutral both in colors and embellishments like this Jean Jacket from Target. With the right jacket your wardrobe can be styled from casual to evening and from summer to fall. Pro-tip: if you plan to layer a lot with you jean jacket, consider going up a size, or you may be somewhat limited to your seasons! I love styling my jean jacket with a fun dress or styling it down with a t-shirt.
(6) Layering Vests. Adding a few vests to your wardrobe will not only be functional, but will also give you a variety of options for switching out looks for continued versatility. Having a few key vest types can help whether you’re dressing up a look (like this Vest from Nordstrom Rack) or being more casual on the weekend for a quick trip to the store or a walk with the pup (shop this Puffer Vest from Old Navy)!
I am always looking for easy and budget friendly ways to expand my wardrobe while making sure my looks and pieces are functional! A lot of these may seem like basics, but the key is to expanding and adding to your wardrobe expanding outfit options for all occasions. Happy Shopping!
This summer has been HOT! So lately I’ve been trying to find outfits that are not only cute and fashionable, but are easy with the heat. So I’ve been leaning on a few staples to help me stay inspired through this hot hot heat, and these are my latest obsessions! Classic Neutrals. Jean shorts have been my go-to weekend outfit, because you really can’t go wrong with a pair of these and a neutral tank or tee. Whether you’re dressing these down for a more causal day, at the ball game or running errands, or dressing this up with a sexy tank or fun top for date night, jean shorts are a perfect staple for casual or cute!
Mixed Prints. Whether it’s polka dots and stripes, or a floral print with a pin-stripe – I’m loving mixing patterns up to pull off a fun statement. This also gives a bit more variety of options in your closet for switching up your looks if you have multiple outfits throughout the day!
Lots of Dresses. Because who wants to wear pants when it’s 90+ degrees!? Not me. So my dresses are being fully cycled through, even needed to dig into a few dressier options for day looks. For my dressier dresses, I’ll usually grab a denim jacket to help dress down for a day at the office. And some of my more casual dresses I’ll mix with a fun statement necklace or wedges.
Kimonos for Summer. Kimonos were one of my fall obsessions and they’re carrying on into the summer months. I love wearing one over a plain dress or paired with my classic neutrals, the fun patterns lend endless options! Plus they’re easy to go from picnic to pool with a singular look to navigate through the day over a one-piece and jean shorts.

Guys & Gals! This year’s holiday fashion trends have me heart-eyed emoji-ing and are my latest obsessions this month! I love looking for new pieces each holiday season to rock at holiday parties for work or with friends, Christmas Eve mass and into the midnight hours of NYE! Finding pieces that are versatile but also unique to stand out is all in the fun of putting together your holiday-ready look.
Sparkles. Always sparkles! Sparkles are especially perfect for a holiday party or to finish off your NYE look. They’re festive and fun and make you feel pretty! Finding a statement top with sparkles is like the ultimate win-win.
Velvet. This is definitely a newer trend that has come out in full force this season and is filling stores. This look is warm, fun and ads texture and style to any look for holiday festivities. Plus these trendy velvet tops are coming in all sorts of colors like maroon, light pink or blues, these translate into the later winter months!
Kimonos. Introducing the new, trendier poncho. These can help dress up any causal look with their intricate designs and use of fabrics. You can go high-end on these or shop a bit more affordable options that can be switched out more! Either way, these are a must, and perfect for covering up a sexy tank.
Furs. Faux of course! Finding a fun faux fur to use as a cover-up or dressing up a plain sweater with a statement vest is perfect for a family or office party. These can also add a layer (no pun intended) of fun to your look while keeping you warm in transit to and from!
It’s just another reason to love this time of the year – and excuse to wear an excessive amount of beautiful things that make you sparkle! Cheers to another year of creating memories and looking fabulous while doing it.
This month’s latest obsessions is a fashion edition. Covering off on all my favorite summer pieces from the beach, to the patio, to a wedding! Let’s face it, that is pretty much what the whole summer is about, and your wardrobe can never have enough options for any of those occasions!
For the Beach: My must have is high-waisted bikini bottoms! A little over a year ago, these were hard to find, now you can find them almost everywhere! From Target, to OldNavy to Athleta, the prints and options are endless and adorable! Since my beach bod has been a work in progress, this is a cute way for me to feel more confident and comfortable! Not to mention everything is on SALE right now! Stock-up!
For the Patio: For the cool summer nights I’ve been loving a pair of mid-rise jean shorts paired with a flowy long sleeve shirt or sweater. It’s perfect for a low-key night with friends sitting around the fire, sipping on a tasty beverage and listening to some good tunes.
For the Wedding: I first fell in love with Jessakae on Pinterest when I saw these gorgeous floral printed dressed. Although, like most clothing pins on Pinterest, the links never work but I decided to click, and to my surprise the link worked! I’ve bought three dresses off Jessakae, they arrive quickly, the fabric is incredible soft and light and they’re great for casual events or to dress up with heels and a nice hair style. They also offer tops, bottoms, and cute shoes!
There is still plenty of summer left to stock your wardrobe with all these essentials, I know I have been!
